Intravenous Infusions (IV)
Vitamins, minerals and therapeutic compounds administered directly into the vein for faster and more efficient absorption.
Oxygenate, modulate, regenerate
Medical ozone is a mixture of oxygen and ozone at controlled concentrations, used for therapeutic purposes. It acts on three fronts: it modulates inflammation, improves the way tissues use oxygen, and stimulates the body's natural defence systems.
It's one of this clinic's signature treatments. Our founder chairs the Portuguese Society of Ozone Therapy, and ozone therapy has been practised here for over fifteen years, always by specialised nursing staff and according to international protocols.
This treatment usually makes sense in the following situations:
There are several routes of administration and your doctor will choose the one that makes sense for your case. The most common are intravenous hyperbaric ozone, given in successive passes; minor autohemotherapy, in which a small amount of your blood is treated and returned; and local applications.
The session takes place in the treatment room, seated and comfortable, and usually lasts between 20 and 45 minutes. It's very common to combine ozone with a vitamin C infusion in the same protocol; in that case the total time increases.
Ozone therapy works in cycles rather than isolated sessions.
The exact number, concentration and interval are decided at consultation and adjusted along the way.
Ozone therapy is not indicated in certain specific clinical situations, namely:
People with diabetes or hypertension can do ozone therapy with increased monitoring, because medication needs may change during the cycle.
That's why the prior medical evaluation isn't a formality: it's what makes the treatment safe.
Ozone from pollution, when inhaled, irritates the airways. Medical ozone is a different thing: it's produced from pure medicinal oxygen, at a controlled concentration, and is never administered by the respiratory route.
In most cases, yes. Bring your full list of medication to the consultation, including supplements.
Some health insurers cover certain treatments. Our administrative team can help you understand your case.
Some people do, others only from the third or fourth session onwards. It's a treatment that works cumulatively.
The cost of this treatment is provided at your consultation, after a personalised clinical assessment.
This treatment can be performed by any of the doctors on our clinical team, depending on availability and the plan defined at your consultation.
