Hydrocolon Therapy
Intestinal cleansing under medical supervision
How the treatment works
This is a wash of the large intestine using filtered, body-temperature water, in a closed circuit, with dedicated equipment and under clinical supervision. It's odourless, doesn't expose the patient, and takes place in a dedicated private room.
It's often the missing step for people who have already changed their diet, taken probiotics, and still have complaints.
Situations where it usually helps
This treatment usually makes sense in the following situations:
What to expect on the day
You lie down, covered, in a private room, with a professional present throughout the session. Water flows in and out in gentle cycles, and the professional monitors and adjusts the pace. The session lasts about 45 minutes and most people describe it as comfortable, with a feeling of relief at the end.
How many sessions, and how far apart
It depends on the goal. For a one-off preparation, a single session may be enough; in a bowel recovery programme it's common to do three to six spaced-out sessions. It's rarely done on its own: it usually goes hand in hand with intestinal infusion protocols and nutritional follow-up.
After the session
- A feeling of lightness and abdominal relief is most common.
- In the following hours your bowel movements may be more active.
- We recommend a light meal afterwards and plenty of water throughout the day.
Safety
It's not indicated in certain intestinal conditions, recent abdominal surgery, and pregnancy, among others.
Prior evaluation is mandatory.
