Autologous Growth Factors and PRP
Your own blood, concentrated to repair.
How the treatment works
Your blood is drawn and centrifuged in our laboratory, separating platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and concentrating the growth factors the body naturally uses to repair tissue. This concentrate is then reapplied precisely where regeneration is needed. There is nothing foreign being introduced into the body: it is your own body, simply concentrated.
Situations where it tends to help
This treatment tends to make sense in the following situations:
What to expect on the day
It is a same-day procedure: blood is drawn, prepared in the laboratory for around twenty minutes, and applied during the same appointment. The application is a local injection, at the site being treated.
How many sessions and how far apart
It varies with the goal: a joint injury may respond to a single session, while aesthetic protocols are usually done in series of three, spaced four to six weeks apart.
After the session
- Mild tenderness at the site for a day or two is normal, as with any injection.
- Most people return to normal activity the same day.
